The studio
Seven chairs, one long table, and rather a lot of tea.
Lumière opened in 2014 in a former haberdasher's on Northcote Road. We kept the copper sink, the wooden floor and the front window that catches the afternoon light — everything else we built ourselves.
Colour is what we are known for, but the studio is deliberately mixed: two colourists, three stylists, a skin therapist and a nail technician who all share the same diary. That means your appointment is planned by the people doing the work, and a colour client is never the last one out of the door.
- 01Consultation first, always. Fifteen free minutes before any colour — we test a strand, talk through the grow-out, and tell you honestly if the answer is no.
- 02Colour that grows out well. We plan the next two appointments into the first one, so month three looks intentional rather than accidental.
- 03Products we can justify. Four brands, all refillable where we can get them. Nothing on the shelf we would not use on our own hair.
- 04A ten-minute grace. Running late? Ring us. We will shuffle what we can rather than shorten your appointment.
